Everyone is sick. People on the train and in my office and at the grocery store and…well, everywhere. Getting sick is basically unavoidable, no matter how many times you wash your hands or how much Purell you use in a day. There are just too many germs.
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had a terrible head cold. Luckily, I knocked it out quickly by using every homeopathic remedy I could find. I thought maybe I was good for the season.
But apparently, my post about preferring a stomach virus to a head cold was tempting fate…so fate decided to teach me a lesson…by giving me a stomach virus. When it started I thought it was just food poisoning from bad Chinese. But then it didn’t stop and for the past week all I’ve eaten is toast, bagels and rice-based dishes and I’ve been barfy and feverish and just generally feeling gross.
But I still stand by my initial statement…I will take a stomach virus over a head cold any day of the week.
I finally feel better and I’ve been fever free for about 24 hours now. I’m hoping all germs are now out of my system and the rest of the winter will be clear sailing.
Unfortunately, J’s dad is sick now and he’s much sicker than I was. So please say a little prayer for him and let’s hope that once he gets better, we all stay healthy from now on.
