Georgia Peaches…

As promised…I finally sat down and over the weekend and went through all my vacation pictures.  So here is the story of my trip to Georgia in pictures…

When I arrived we went to the most delicious breakfast of goat cheese omelettes and cheese grits…which I didn’t take any pictures of.  But I did take a picture of the menu…which made me laugh…because it’s so true…

Then we went to the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial…

Where we visited MLK’s birth home and the Ebenezer Baptist Church where he was the preacher…

When we got home, we broke out the champagne…of course…

Over the next few days…we went to Perry, GA for a delicious lunch…which I also forgot to take pictures of.  Luckily, Ally remembered to take one…

We drove by the Blue Bird Bus Factory and saw the million buses parked in their parking lot…including the prison models…

We went to the peach orchard…because, you know, it is Georgia…and we ate some delicious peach and strawberry ice cream…

Despite the incredible heat, we went to the airshow on Robins Air Force Base and saw some really awesome aeronautical tricks…

A current fighter jet flying next to a WWII fighter jet…

A jet powered porta-potty…

A few characters that you can only find in Georgia…

And the Blue Angels…who were amazing…

We went to the adorable Whistle Stop Cafe…where they filmed Fried Green Tomatoes…

And where they still make the most delicious fried green tomatoes…

And fried chicken…

There was also a lot of girl talk…and hanging out on the patio with Captain Miller…and relaxing.  It was such a great weekend and I can’t wait until July when I get to do it all over again!

  1. Looks like a lovely vacation and you had an enjoyable time. Nice!

  2. I never knew Mrs. King was a cougar, too :) I told Ally this on FB, but I love how the pics from your vacation are like “pretty, pretty, pretty, BOOM! Airplanes.” I’m so glad you girls had a fun time <3

  3. this all sounds like SO much fun and looks SO delicious!!! I’ve always wanted to A) Go tour all things MLK and B) Go to the Whistle Stop Cafe, mmm fried green tomatoes!

  4. Awwww, sounds like you girls had such a wonderful time! And you both look gorgeous. Shana, I love that hat on you :) So cute.

Also I’ve always wanted to see the Blue Angels but planes flying so close together make me incredibly nervous.

  5. YAY for a recap! Guess the ball’s in my court now, huh? Okey doke…

  6. You girls got around! Holy cow! Lots of activity! I have yet to see an airshow in person, which is ridiculous having lived right next to an Air Force Base for two years AND Kalamazoo, MI where they have an aeronautical museum. I believe this is going on the bucket list. :)

I’m glad you enjoyed yourself! You deserved a getaway!
