Random Musings Friday…

I’m running to late today.

Originally I planned to write this post last night…but then I fell asleep on the couch watching Big Bang Theory.  So that didn’t happen.

Then I planned to write it this morning while I waited for the car to get fixed…because the car place has wi-fi.  But then I didn’t have to take the car after all…so that didn’t happen.

So then I thought I’d just write it when I got to work…but then I actually got to work and I walked into a nut house.  My phone was already ringing before I took off my coat and I had 36 emails waiting for me.  So that didn’t happen either.

And here we are…at 1:25 and I’m trying to get this out quickly while gulping down a BLT for lunch.  I hate crazy days like this.  Luckily…all my bosses are on vacation starting next week and for the rest of the year.  If I can just get through three more workdays I can finally relax…and catch up on everything I have piled up that I never get to!

Anyway…first…I have the announcement of the winner of the Kiva card.  The selection of the winner was done in a very scientific way…I put all the names in a hat and had my co-worker pick one out.  See…scientific.  And the winner is…

Allyson from 400 Wake-ups

But wait…there’s more.  I have two surprise gifts…that are not Kiva cards, but something else entirely…something equally as awesome…and my co-worker so graciously assisted me on picking two more names from the hat.  Those people are…

Robyn from Joyful Follies…and

Scraps from Scraps of Life!

Congrats ladies.  And I hope that everyone will consider going to Kiva.org and making a microloan…even though you didn’t win the card.

Now…onto my favorite feature…

I’m very sad to report that I was a horrible note taker this week, so my random musings are very short this week…

  • While I was standing at the bus stop yesterday, a woman asked me for directions.  She had so much plastic surgery that she didn’t look real.  I couldn’t stop staring at her face…to the point where I could barely tell her where to go.  Let me tell you…I much prefer my wrinkles to what this chick did to her face.  No plastic surgery for me, thanks.
  • Speaking of growing old gracefully…I’m not.  I’m freaking out about the whole thing.  I am past due for a dye job and my hair is so gray.  I was wearing a ponytail last night and I had to take it out because you can see far too many gray hairs that way.  I don’t know how I got this old…considering I was just 22 last week!
  • My proudest achievement of the week…I was able to use the line “The list is long and distinguished…like my johnson” in a conversation and it made perfect sense to the person with whom I was speaking.  Oh Top Gun, how I love thee.

Well…I’m done eating so now I have to get back to work.  I hope everyone has an excellent weekend.

Comments

  1. Congrats Robyn and Allyson! (I now feel the need to have a ‘y’ in my name, just to fit in, lol.)

Did you hear there’s still talks of doing a Top Gun 2? I’m not quite sure how I feel about that one!

  2. I’m “linking up” with you today, just so you know! 😀

Also, I am having the same problem with my hair!!! Except my blonde is showing, which looks gray because it’s ashy/mousy/dishwater/other unsavory adjective blonde.

Congrats to the winners! How exciting! I can’t wait to see the mystery prizes!

I hope you have a relaxing weekend after this NOT relaxing Friday!

  3. I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he is doing well. I’ll be sending him (and you) good thoughts and energy. I’ve been out of touch for a bit so I’m catching up this week.

I totally understand the getting old thing. Sometimes I am shocked at my own age. I remember when people my age were SOOOOO old! It’s only been about a year since I started coloring my hair, not for fun–but function.

  4. WooHoo!
I am excited to see what I won. This news could not have come at a better time.
And I am heading to Kiva right now to make a microloan of my own!

  5. I fully enjoy your Random Musings! Very insightful. I sadly an not aging gracefully as I am 37 going on 51. Plastic faces scare me too.

  6. People with excessive plastic surgery always scare me, too. I want to examine their faces but look away all at once.

Hope you had a nice weekend and were able to take it easy!
