Strange Coincidences…

In yesterday’s post I mentioned my ex-boyfriend.  His name was Daniel.  I haven’t spoken to Daniel in a very long time…though he does tend to re-appear repeatedly in my life…kind of like a bad penny.  Anyway, the last time we spoke I wasn’t very friendly to him and I haven’t heard a word from him since.

Yesterday, Daniel decided to Google me and he found my blog.

On the very day that I wrote about him.  The only time that I’ve ever written anything about him.

Strange coincidence, right?

Actually, I believe that we are all connected and that the energy you put out into the universe comes back to you.  (Oddly enough…this is something I started to believe when I was with Daniel.)  When I wrote about him yesterday, I put that energy out into the universe.  It reached Daniel and made him think about me…which prompted his Google search…which led him to the post I wrote about him.  And so it all came full circle.

I don’t believe in coincidences.  I believe that everything happens for a reason.  I believe we have a greater hand in shaping our fate than we realize.

I’m glad that Daniel saw what I wrote and I was happy to see his comment.  I like knowing that my aunt touched people and that she is remembered fondly.  So thank you, Daniel.

Also, thank you to everyone else who commented yesterday.  Your thoughts were a bright spot in a sad day.

  1. That is so weird and really neat at the same time! And I am really sorry about your aunt.

  2. Awwww, Shana. This is SO very true. We are all connected in a strange way and I honestly believe that there’s a reason he stepped into your life again. Maybe it was to tell you that your aunt touched him as well, or that he no longer harbors resentment for the last conversation you had, but it’s nice to know you were both thinking of each other on the very same day.

    Isn’t life strange?

  3. I, too, believe that you get back what you put out into the world. And I truly believe that there is a reason behind everything (which causes huge philosophical debates with Mama Virgo who believes in this crazy thing called Free Will). I have to remember that what I put out will come back to me when I start imagining Neal cheating or leaving me or dying while deployed. I don’t want that kind of energy. Thank you for reminding me that it’s real and it happens and I would be much better off by putting out love (and maybe the hope that lottery numbers will appear to me in my dream).

  4. I’m a believer, too. Mostly, that all life is interconnected and none is more important than another.

I’m glad that Daniel reached out to you, took the opportunity to leave a comment and connect. Awesome.

  5. It’s really crazy how things work out sometime. I’m sorry for your loss and will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
