Random musings Friday…

Is it me or do short work weeks somehow feel longer?  I feel like this week was at least 8 days long!  But the weekend is here…and what a busy weekend it’s going to be.  I’m going to see Bon Jovi and Kid Rock tonight, followed my a sleepover at my brother and sister-in-law’s.  Tomorrow, I’m hoping to talk my mom into breakfast at the diner and then I’m going to J’s cousin’s for a Christmas in July party.  Sunday, J and I will, hopefully, be working on our new patio.  I’m very much looking forward to 5pm and the start of all the excitement.

And speaking of excitement…as I mentioned, the lovely Juliann sent me some extra goodies along with the giveaway necklace last week.  So I decided to do a second chance drawing to share them with all of you.  This little lovely was up for grabs…

I did the drawing last night and the winner is…Robyn from Fojoy.  Congrats, lady!

Ok…so all the business is out of the way…time for this week’s random musings…

  • I’m seriously addicted to The Real Housewives of NJ.  They bring a lot of crazy to the table and I LOVE IT!  That Danielle is just one hot mess.  What is up with her always thinking that people are going to do her physical harm?  And why do her children have to tell her how to behave like an adult?  Really?  And Ashley…my God how I want to give that girl the good beating that her mother should have given her years ago.  That’s your mother you are talking to…show her a little respect, you spoiled brat.  The show is like watching a train wreck and I just can’t look away.  It’s far and away my favorite Housewives.
  • The new people who live next door are extremely nice…but really strange.  They have three kids who seem to be drawn to my dogs like moths to a flame.  As soon as they hear my garage door go up they come flying out of the house and stand by my fence.  I’ve invited them into the yard to play with the dogs, but they refuse.  I think they are fascinated but afraid.  So they stand just out of the dogs’ reach…which, of course, drives the dogs insane.  It’s very hard to get the dogs to pee after that.  Also…the kids spend most of their time sitting in the car.  This week, during the heat wave, I saw them all wearing sweatpants and long sleeves and sitting in the car eating apples.  Um…ok.  I know they are still working on the house, so the have limited space to play inside.  But there is a whole patio and pool in the back yard.  I don’t get it.
  • All during the week, I think of things that I want to include in this post, but usually I’m away from my computer at those moments.  I always think that I should write the thoughts down, but I usually swear I’ll remember without notes.  Of course, I don’t remember.  So Friday rolls around and I sit here, wracking my brain, trying to remember what I wanted to write.  It’s very annoying.  I am putting a pad into my purse right now, so next time I think of something I can write it down on something other than the back of a receipt or a gum wrapper.

On that note, I’m ending this week.  I hope everyone has a fabulous and wonderful weekend!

  1. Only a teesy bit green here, over your awesome double-header tonight! Can’t wait to read all about it.
And Congrats to Robyn!! I ♥ her blog!

OMG, the people next door…so odd. Maybe they used to live in the mountains somewhere?
I always forget really important shit I want to blog about! I’ve even got a tablet in my purse for jotting (that remains blank)…I may be a lost cause!
I’ve never watched the Housewives. I think I must be missing something b/c this isn’t the first post I’ve read in the last day, that’s discussing them. The way it’s described, I feel like I’d be watching COPS & getting all fired up at the ridiculousness of people!

    HAVE much fun this weekend!!

  2. Okay, I’m going to pull one of my multiple weird comment things.

What the hell is with all my exclamation !! points? I’ve only had 3 cups of java this morning and I’m not feeling all that excited or anything….so, yeah, just ignore all that bounce.

  3. Hmm… kids these days tend to be a little weird sometimes. But I know what you mean about the dogs having a hard time going after freaking out over the kids. Anytime ANYTHING is going on and I take Monte out he WILL NOT GO. Gah. Annoying!

    Happy weekend lady!

  4. Yay for me! I was just telling Wilzie that I needed to go jewellery shopping, so he thanks you too 😉
I keep a “notepad” on my phone, so whenever an idea pops into the vast, open space of my brain, I can type it onto my phone for later. It works well…when I remember to do it…
Neighbours – don’t get me started! It would be so nice to live out in the middle of nowhere and not have any neighbours…except I am terrified of being by myself out in the middle of nowhere and so far away from a Starbucks. So I guess I’ll just have to stay in the city and suffer.

Enjoy your concert and have a great weekend!

    • Yes, I think I agree that your neighbors are way worse than mine. Right now we are looking to move to a place that has bigger property so we are farther away from the neighbors, but still close enough that we are near Starbucks. I’ll let you know if we find something.

  5. Congrats, Robyn! that necklace is beautimous!!

Your neighbors’ kids sound a little creepy.

And I definitely think you should carry a notepad. I use the one on my phone for sudden ideas that pop into my head and it helps a lot!

  6. That concert tonight is going to rock in about 3984039 different ways!! I’m a very weird shade of green right now.

And…um…what do you do at a Christmas in July party? I’m so intrigued.

As for your neighbors…that IS odd. I mean, I’m in sweats in my house but that’s because I think 64 is a very special number…especially for an air conditioning unit.

Have fun this weekend if and you somehow land yourself backstage tonight, I want to hear ALL about it on Monday. Unless of course, you have run off with B.J. and then I expect to hear a song about you on the radio.

    • So J’s cousin has these theme parties a few times a year. The last one was around Easter. All the girls get together. We each bring a present that goes with the theme and there is a grab bag. She also makes up games and gives out prized and there are favor bags. We’ve done themes for Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Fall and Halloween. We never do Christmas because it’s always so busy. So this year she decided to do Christmas, but in July, when it’s less hectic. There is usually some sort of traditionally themed meal as well…but this time we are having Chinese food. It’s too hot to cook a Christmas dinner!

I agree that 64 is a special number. I think that’s how cold it was in my house last night. I was under two blankets and had the dogs laying on me. It rocked.

  7. First, what’s up with your neighbors? I live in NJ (WOOOOP, NJ HOUSEWIVES REPRESENT!! I also love that trainwreck of a show) and with the temps being in the 100s this week, I can’t even look at my long sleeves. I jokingly told some people I was going to rock a muumuu to work this week and I think I’m serious.

Sounds like you have a great weekend lined up. I can’t wait to hear about the Bon Jovi/Kid Rock show!

  8. P.S.: There’s a shout-out to you on my blog today. Please stop by if you have the chance!
