And the award goes to…

So here’s the thing about blog awards…I freaking love them.  Because I can’t even believe that anyone reads my craziness.  To find out that someone likes me enough to give me a little shout out and some bloggy bling…well, that just blows me away.  This week I got some love from not one, but two of my favorite people…

Kelly at Dare to be Domestic passed along this beauty…

And Christine at Raised Queer gave me this one…

Ladies…you absolutely made my week.  You are both fabulous and hysterical and awesome in many, many ways.  I thank you both so much!

Now, as with all awards, these two come with rules.  I’m lazy, so I’m going to combine them…I’m going to tell you 7 things about myself that you don’t already know and then I’m going to pass this on to 10 other bloggers…some newly discovered and some old favorites.

Here are 7 things that you previously didn’t know…

  1. I repeat myself a lot.  Actually, if you have been paying attention you probably already know that.  It’s a family trait.  We all do it.  I am doing it more and more as I get older.  Feel free to point it out to me when I do it on here.
  2. I couldn’t swallow pills until I was like 25.  I had to put them in applesauce or pudding in order to get them down.  If I didn’t I would gag horribly.  I’ve stopped all that now, but sometime I still gag if I have to take a really large pill.
  3. I read For Better of For Worse and Dear Abby every day.  It’s the very first thing I do when I get to work in the morning.
  4. I totally believe in psychics.
  5. I love to play slot machines and video poker.  I believe this is a trait inherited from my grandmother.  If I lived closer to a casino I’d probably be an addict.
  6. I have a strange crush on John Malkovich.  I have no idea why…it’s not like he’s good-looking.  But I think he’s just awesome.
  7. I think Howard Stern is really funny.  I read his book and I saw his movie and I used to listen to his show all the time.  I don’t anymore, but I still think he’s funny.

I am passing this on to the following people…

Jenni @ Less is More
Charlotte @ My Pixie Blog
Mary @ This Human’s Condition
Kris @ Pretty All True
Fojoy @ Fojoy
Elle @ “A” for Effort, “B” for Blog
Tiffany @ On the Verge
JM @ Making Stuff is Fun
Allyson @ Magnolias & Mimosas
The Gals @ Witches of Brookville

There you have it.  Don’t forget to enter my giveaway…only a few days left.  Every comment counts for one entry.

Have a great day everyone!

  1. Shana, you are ♥’d to the nth degree!

I’m not sure if I repeat things too often, but I sure as hell talk with my hands like a wild Italian. Good thing none of my readers can see me b/c it’s a little disturbing when I type and talk. :)

You mentioned For Better or For Worse and I was like OMG! Me too! The thing is, I was pregnant with my daughter when Elly was pregnant w/April and I gave birth the same month as she did. So, weird as it is, I’d read all along b/c the characters were all growing and going through what I was. Although, I haven’t kept up in the last couple of years (I think it retired)…wondering if April ever went to college. Hmm.

  2. You’re welcome girl – you deserve it! So you’re saying that John M is you unconventional crush – NICE!

    • I was watching a preview for his new movie and when he flashed on the screen I was like “Man I totally forgot about him when I was commenting on Kelly’s post the other day!”

  3. Thanks Shana!

  4. Thank you so much for passing on the love! Right back at ya!

My mom used to crush my pills and mix them on a spoon with warm water and sugar. Wilzie actually has a condition where he cannot swallow pills – I used to tease him constantly about it, til we found out there was an actual medical reason…although, I still think its mostly in his head 😉

  5. Congrats on your award, prettyface!! Very well deserved!
I totally believe in psychics too. Which is why I never visit them. I would take whatever they said FAR too seriously.

  6. Congrats on the awards–you totally deserve them! I believe in psychics too, but have never visited one…Like Salt, I think I’d take anything they say far too seriously.

And thank you soooooooooo much for passing the awards onto me! I feel honored, and you (and Christine) made my month!!! I’ll pass them along as soon as I can.

  7. Thanks for the award! I could not swallow pills when I was little and had to take them in applesauce or something. Then I had to take so many pills for my allergies that I got to the point where I could swallow like 5 with nothing. NO water or anything. Then I reverted back. Now I cannot take them without some sort of liquid. John Malkovich is kind of cool.

  8. Awwww, thanks so much for the mention :) Will work on this over the weekend!

I think you should add #8: I repeat myself a lot. HAHA! I do this all the time, too. Sometimes I think my stories are exciting but then I realize they are to me only and I end up telling people things over and over but they’re too polite to tell me I’m senile at 31 years of age. Oh well.

  9. Ohhh!!! Happy Champagne Friday to me!!!! Thanks, love! Does this mean I get BOTH of them?? 😉 Because that would be sheer awesome!! I had a thing for John Malkovich until I saw Being John Malkovich…and then…I don’t know…it sort of really creeped me out. So, I’m done with that. But I can see the attraction. It’s the same one I have for Jack Nicholson. And while I don’t particularly care for Howard Stern, I do love Bob and Tom…and a lot of people don’t get that either.

And I still don’t swallow pills. My vitamins are gummies. I swear.

    Happy 4th of July weekend!
